I spent some money on Anthropic API credits and used their API programmatically while building an agent and got curious. So I installed Claude Code, put in my API key and gave it a try.

Again, wow. Seeing an agent write code is not that special anymore, but how the interaction with it felt on the terminal, I’m psotively surprised.

Like on my previous post, it is interesting to do java development and use Intellij only at the end for review and to get the understanding of the state of the code base in it’s new state.

I have to admit, the experience was rather short. I didn’t develop too much. I just had a glimpse. But I’m curious for more.

Next week I’ll be traveling to Germany to meet other technical coaches, let’s see if there’s anyone else who has experience to share with me about what tool(s) they currently use.

Update from Saturday 28th of June: By now I’m doing everything in Cloud Code and I’m subscribed to the $100/month plan.

One example outside of programming: When I had to create new slides, I didn’t want to do that in PowerPoint Keynote. I asked Claude about Markdown-based presentation solutions and we landed on Slidev].
